How do teachers use Ask3?

  • Teacher create a homework-help video to help students when they get home
  • Teacher sends a video home as homework, thus freeing up class time to work on assignments in class

A

Q

Is it safe for students?

We safeguard student privacy. We collect NO student emails and NO registration. Students are asked for their name, only so that comments and questions can be linked to an individual.

A

Q

Are private conversations allowed?

No. In the future, we may experiment with private conversations if we find that helps us towards our goals.

A

Q

Who's it for?

Ask3 is for teachers and students with iPads. Ask3 enables them to share their knowledge and collaborate via threaded, video conversations.

A

Q

Can I add my own videos?

Currently, Ask3 only allows you to share videos made from within Ask3. Being able to use pre-existing videos (e.g., from Snagit, Camtasia or YouTube) might be something we experiment with in a future release but it not currently part of our plan.

A

Q

Can I add multiple classes?

Starting with our July 2013 release teachers have the ability to add multiple classes. Just tap on the current class name and press the + button.

A

Q

Can I change classes?

Our current release allows teachers to switch classes by tapping on the current class name and selecting a different class from the list that appears. Students still have to logout and login with a different class code to change classes.

A

Q

How much does it cost?

Ask3 is free!

A

Q

How long will it be free?

At this time Ask3 is an experiment that TechSmith is running to learn more about how we can help improve the education experience. As it is an experiment we have no plans to charge for the application at this time.

A

Q

Is there a limit to the content?

A
